I always wanted to do a couples photo shoot at an icecream parlor and what better place to do it than Doc Burnstein's Icecream Parlor in Arroyo Grande, CA. I suggested it and they were all game! These two are such a nice couple, I'm glad I got some silliness out of them as well. Can't wait for their wedding at Shell Beach this coming August! Enjoy!

Nightingale & Johnny's Engagement Session - Huntington Gardens, Downtown Pasedenda
I don’t know where to begin with words. I’ve known Gale (Nightingale) for what, my entire life? Gale has been my “across-the street” neighbor since I believe I was born. We grew up together, we played together, and my grandma pretty much raised us during our childhood. We went to the same schools, until we left for college. Funny thing is we both went to San Diego for school and even funnier we moved back home at the same time. I know Gale. I know that she is a sweetheart, kind, caring, very into her culture, and very close to her family and friends. She is one gal you can always count on. I have a list of friends who I consider awesome, friendly, simple and easy to hang out with. Gale is easily on the top 10 of that list.
We both went through hard times in the past year or so by losing one of our parents. I know it hit her hard and it still kills us to think that one of each of our parents is gone. However, she was left with much more responsibility than I did to take care of her ill mom. This is when I knew she found the other half of her life, Johnny. I barely knew Johnny until what, Facebook hooked us up as friends? From reading his silly status, goofy pictures, and pictures with family outings, I knew immediately he was the right person for Gale. But what really got me is how he takes care of Gale’s mom when Gale is not home. That’s what you call dedication and love for each other.
Gale has a great eye for art and photography. I’m so glad she chose me to do her engagement and wedding photos. I wish my clients were as loose as these two. They were prepared, willing, and they were being THEM which made my job easier.
